About Me

Heather serves as the First- and Second Year Advisor and Transition Specialist for the University Honors Program. She brings a depth of experience to the role, including vivid memories of her transition to being a first-year Davis Honors Challenge (a former iteration of UHP) student as a highly disadvantaged girl from a rural northern California high school. Since graduating, she has spent the majority of her long career supporting high-performing, high-potential UC Davis students in achieving the success they want, regardless of preparation or privilege, at the university and beyond.

How I Work with Students

As an advisor, Heather is compassion-driven, strategic and practical. She brings a high degree of institutional knowledge to her advising role to ensure that all of her students are well cared-for both personally and academically. She recognizes that our Honors students all have differing degrees of preparation and privilege and is deeply committed to removing any barriers that exist due to those differences. Heather is here to listen, offer high-level personal and academic guidance, and connect her students to high-impact opportunities for exploration and expert-level personal and academic support when needed.

Fun Facts About Me

Outside of the office, I enjoy travel, yoga, snuggling with my cats, reading everything I can get my hands on, and supporting our undocumented immigrant population with NorCal Resist.
